AA Emergency at JFK this morning
« on: February 18, 2007, 13:55:42 UTC »
At approximately 8:45 AM EST this morning (02/18/2007) I caught the tail end of an emergency with an American Airlines flight inbound to JFK.  Sounds like something to do with the landing gear.  The equipment and FAA units apparently responded, and the landing was uneventful.  All I heard was the last few minutes of the JFK Ground comms, and did not hear the event unfold with approach and/or tower.

If anyone can find and post the approach, tower and ground comms, that would be great.  Thanks.

Tony

Unfortuneately, the tower would be impossible to get because the feeder is on vacation.

Keep an eye out on the ntsb record database for a report. ntsb.gov

All their records seem really old: http://ntsb.gov/Publictn/A_Acc1.htm

I hope I'm looking at the right page.

You'll be able to get it here, if it was a crash: http://www.planecrashinfo.com/2007/2007.htm

It wasn't a crash.  There was some mention of the landing gear but the landing was fine.
