AA 1640 (American 1640) Miami Center Audio
« on: October 31, 2010, 02:37:44 AM »
The archives are screwed up :?, however here is the ZMA Miami Center audio from the Freeport Low R-21 sector.
This is the only sector that they contacted before heading back to Miami. That particular night I was out fishing and had left the Miami Approach frequency 120.5 locked out due to poor reception. This is who Miami Center handed them off too.  Some nights when the reception is better and when I'm home, I will stream that frequency.

8-) Having a higher antenna works too for better reception, but that's up to you...

I am wondering when the crew knew the cause of that explosive decompression, because they asked for the services to stand by. Had they already located the hole?

At one time I had the antenna about 50' high however it put too much pressure on my tilt-up mast (it bent the steel pipes). I had to reduce to about 40'. I'm still (always) in the antenna experimental stage...will keep striving to improve. By the way, at 50' the reception wasn't really better. What would help is for me to move closer to Miami, right know I'm about 35 miles away

NOTE: Where I live we can't have antennas :-o

I have no clue what the crew knew.....will have to wait for the facts. On the news they reported it could take 18 months for the NTSB to figure it all out  :? :? :?
