5 May: Jetstar A320 landing gear problem

Jetstar flight JQ506 (A320 VH-VFV) from Melbourne to Sydney reports a landing gear problem to ATC shortly after departure. Unable to remedy the problem the crew request vectors for an approach to RWY34 where an uneventful landing was made. Some transmissions are one sided (pilot only) due to my location.
