A dog that looks like an aircraft?
An aircraft that looks like a dog?
I know this is old but I've been wondering ever since I heard it what they saw and I thought that maybe someone here know or have an idea. I did not hear any pilot mention a dog.

"Mad Dog" is slang for an MD-80. Could that be it?

i'd say the "dog" part came from ground control misunderstanding "dark" object.
as to what it was ... most likely a balloon or maybe a drone with something around it to make it look like whatever.
it for sure was not an MD-80 lol.

That makes sense. I was really wondering how they came up with dog from what the BA pilot said. A misunderstanding of dark and dog would do it.
I really hope it was a balloon and not that someone would be so idiotic to fly a drone over the runway.

they are stupid enough to fly them over canarsie in the VOR13 approach path, so all bets are off.
i don't save it but drone reports at kennedy are sadly enough common i would say.

Sounds like two simultaneous but unrelated events. An object (most likely a drone) flying over 22R and also a dog seen on 21L.
