28 Apr: Bad time for a flat tire!
« on: April 28, 2019, 11:25:09 PM »
BTQ788 (DDC to DEN) suffered a flat tire on landing rollout and became disabled on Runway 25. Denver was only using Runways 25 and 26 at the time of the incident due to high winds, hence a massive traffic jam and impatient pilots on frequency!

Interesting note: DDC is the IATA code for Dodge City, Kansas. Boutique Air operates this route—along with several others out of Denver—as part of the FAA's Essential Air Service program.

That controller counting all airplanes lined up for departure... :-o :-o

Thanks for sharing, Mariel! :-) :-D

EDIT: I'm working on importing all the flights into our ATC Radar. I manually edited missed approach airplanes to show in Yellow. It looks like the D01 Tracon was on top and many airplanes were put into holdings right after the Boutique got disabled. Everything had to move on to runway 26 - they later opened runways 35.

...and they were only able to open 34/35 because the winds just happened to die down at the right moment. A rare case of the weather actually cooperating when needed!  :-P
