Lufthansa 400 was to heavy to be able to land on runway 22 at JFK with the condition at the time. They requested 4L or 13 but they were unable to get that and had to divert. They were very understanding but I imagine that it must be very frustrating to have a runway right there that you would be able to land at but because of the traffic in the area you can't get it and have to divert.
