This just hit the news.  I (like others, I suspect) are scrubbing the archives for audio now.  I'll post if I come up with something, nothing yet.

They would have been with Houston Approach. Listening to the archive (1830-1900z) sounds like everything was ok but heavy precipitation was ahead of them on the approach. Sad stuff  :-(

Yeah, those are the archives I was listening to.  Not posting a clip because there's not much there.  I will write a summary, however:

GTI3591 checked in on apporach at approx altitude 17,800 around 1825Z.  Pilot on the radio sounded normal - the traditional "pilot cool".  Was routed for a specific runway transition -- I didn't catch which one, it was somewhat chopped.  Some vectoring for weather, and GTI3591 doubled with KIAH approach for part of it, but sounded like he deviated east for weather.  That was the last I heard of him, it was a busy feed in that half hour.  Next thing I knew was approach asking inbound aircraft if they were hearing ELTs.  Around 1848 I'm hearing reports of ELTs and approach calling for GTI3591  with a how-do-you-hear.

From the ear and eye of this untrained observer?  Whatever happened, happened pretty fast.  I'm listening to the rest of the half hour block to see if there's anything useful, but I have my doubts.

Agree on the precip -- when I loaded the 1800Z clip to try and catch the checkin, I just had this bad feeling.

Hopefully someone else will have something from a private feed.

Yeah that’s what I heard as well. Sounded like the controller issued the “Light to Heavy precip moving east to west of (sounded like VANS) on the LINKK Rnav for 26L transition”

Multiple request to other aircraft on approach, "looking for a Heavy Boeing 767"  :-(

Witnesses report seeing the aircraft going nose first into the bay....

Microburst or the cargo load shifted unexpectedly?  :-( The flight track seemed to be normal till about 6000 ft then it went straight down.

VANNN, which is an initial approach fix on the 26L approach, about 15 miles north of the crash site.  https://aeronav.faa.gov/d-tpp/1902/05461IL26L.PDF

Rest in Peace

As always, thanks to the LiveATC feeders and members to keep this running. I hope this video helps a bit to understand the situation. I overlayed the weather radar and a few overlays over the Tracon maps (VANNN included) to visualize it better.

The last ADS-B track that I had showed a rapid drop of 7,000 feet per minute. Hoping to read something from the investigators soon.

Fly high, Captains!

So sad.

You can hear somebody (GPWS or a pilot) shouting 'PULL!' in this

Interesting catch - I totally missed that.   Does sound like the GPWS "Pull Up" voice https://youtu.be/IMI3JhfurKY?t=106

But that would make no sense because at that time they were nowhere proximate to the ground.    It will be interesting to eventually hear the CVR.

I just don't hear that?
