Title: 22 May: Mooney M20J, N5717K, yoke came off

He declared Mayday after the yoke came off. He was able to move to the passenger side and landed at VAN NUYS.

I was in the pattern that day, was one of the aircraft twr told to expect full stop.
Saw him land, very heavy porpoise but he made it and all was well at the end. Happy everyone got home safely!
