Virgin Australia flight VA9949 (737-800 VH-VOK callsign "Velocity 9949") from Christchurch to Melbourne reports a flap issue to ATC on approach to RWY 27. The crew abandon the approach and request holding to run checklists and remedy the problem. An uneventful approach and landing is made a short time later on RWY34.
