This guy's not too happy...
« on: September 12, 2011, 11:15:52 AM »

Can someone tell me what's going on here.   American 1081 is coming in on approach to 14R at ORD

when he's waved off because of something the previous arrival (AA1014) did or did not do...        Thanks

AA1014 reported a fox on the runway at the numbers. Didn't hit it and landed OK. Controller just playing it safe by advising go-arounds on the next 2 a/c on final. (I guess that would be known as a runway incursion - lol).

The FAA may attempt an enforcement action on that fox.

He better file that NASA ASRS form

After the concorde crash, anything reported to be on an active runway that shouldn't be is removed immediately.  If a plane reports a bird strike over the runway, the runway is closed until the airport can do a runway inspection.  Its a safety issue and its not flexible.
