Longtime lurker on these forums, but I'm an Air Force guy here in Las Vegas.
Here's the latest info we have:
WANTED: Marilou Danley, Asian women, 4'11, 111 lbs, identified as suspect's roommate.
SEARCH FOR VEHICLES BELONGING TO SUSPECT:
Hyundai Tucson, Nevada plate 114B40
Chrysler Pacifica, Nevada plate 19D401
20+ dead including police officers, 100+ injured
1 shooter was on 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Hotel with automatic weapon. Police breached the room and killed him.
Suspect was local resident, name not released.
Metro, North Las Vegas PD, Henderson PD, FBI and Nevada Highway Patrol on scene. Incident appears to be over however shelter in place still advised.

As for the audio, that was very interesting. Friend was trying to fly out when they held his aircraft. People were in fact jumping the fence (KLAS is located on the strip directly across from the scene) to escape.
When a pilot asked about shutting down, ATC replied: "shutting down might not be a good idea, there's active shooters on the runway....They're on the airport property"
The only shooter has been confirmed as at the Mandalay Hotel, though Metro PD was all over the airfield as well.
